Tulsa Police Department Implements Smart911 Network

KWGS News

The Tulsa Police Department will now be more informed when responding to emergencies. Smart911 is a service where citizens can help enhance police response in their community.

How?

By providing information such as the number of members in the household, all phone numbers (mobile, landline, or VIOP), and all addresses (home, work, vacation homes), medications, medical conditions, vehicles, and pets, citizens can send first responders to emergency locations with more knowledge.

If citizens include details about their household, such as individuals who require electricity for medical needs, individuals who need assistance evacuating their homes, and sheltering needs for family members and pets in the event of a disaster or evacuation, emergency management can more accurately plan for and respond to disasters and evacuation.

Municipalities will also be able to more easily send out emergency notifications if provided with all phone numbers for members of a household and preferred communication method.
