Tulsa Police Arrests Suspects in Separate Slaying Cases

Tulsa Parks Dept

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Tulsa police have arrested three people in connection with two separate slayings.

Sergeant Dave Walker says two women were arrested for Monday's death of 27-year-old Shamara Girod. The victim died after being struck by a car following a fight at a city park. Walker says one woman was arrested for manslaughter and kidnapping and the second for kidnapping.

Walker also said an 18-year-old man was arrested for first-degree murder for Thursday's shooting death of 19-year-old Cristal Gutierrez-Garza. Gutierrez-Garza was driving on a city street when she was shot by a person in another car. A motive has not been released, but Walker says Gutierrez-Garza and the suspect knew each other and said the shooting was not random.

Online court records on Saturday did not show formal charges have been filed against any of the three suspects.
