TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Tulsa police have arrested a man who they said led officers on a slow-speed chase and refused to exit his car before officers broke into the vehicle.
The Tulsa Police Department says the 30-minute standoff on Monday with 40-year-old Andre Ramsey ended when officers broke his window, used pepper-spray balls and then shot him with a stun gun.
Police say an officer originally tried to pull over Ramsey for a traffic violation but that he refused to talk and drove off. Officers used spike strips to flatten his tires but Ramsey wouldn't exit the vehicle.
Ramsey was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints including eluding and resisting arrest. Online records didn't indicate an attorney.
