TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Tulsa police say a 2-year-old girl has died and that the child's mother was arrested for child neglect.
Police say in a news release that the child was pronounced dead at a Tulsa hospital after an ambulance was called to a home at about 4:30 a.m. Friday.
The department says the child was left in the care of a 13-year-old family member while the child's mother had left the home. Police say the 13-year-old eventually discovered the child unresponsive and left the house to get help.
Police arrested the mother after interviewing her and booked her on a complaint of child neglect. Bond is set at $50,000 and there was no attorney information listed in jail records for the woman.
