Tulsa Man Held in California Killings

Southern California authorities say a 22-year-old man from Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been arrested in the murders of a Long Beach mother and her 4-year-old daughter.

Long Beach Police Chief Robert Luna announced the arrest of Brandon Colbert at a press conference Monday afternoon.

Luna said Colbert was identified as a suspect after being matched to DNA submitted by detectives.

Investigators believe Colbert boarded a Greyhound bus from Tulsa to Los Angeles three days before the shooting on Aug. 6.

Twenty-six-year-old Carina Mancera and her daughter, Jennabel Anaya, were shot to death while walking home from grocery shopping.

No motive has been established and Luna says the investigation remains active.

Colbert has been booked into jail and police plan to present their case to Los Angeles County prosecutors on Tuesday.
