TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A 24-year-old Tulsan has been charged with first-degree felony murder in the shooting death of a man prosecutors say was the target of an armed robbery.
The charge was filed Friday against Demario Veshawn, who also was charged with attempted robbery with a firearm.
Prosecutors allege that Bethany used a .22-caliber revolver to fatally shoot 26-year-old Courtney Darnell Parks on December 29th.
Police say Parks was shot multiple times in a parking lot and died after running behind a building at an apartment complex. Police say Bethany lured Parks to the complex with the intention of robbing him.
Tulsa County court records indicate Bethany has not yet entered a plea to the charges. They do not indicate if he is represented by an attorney.
