Tulsa Jail Overcrowded

Tulsa Jail

There’s no room at the lockup. Daily inmate populations at the Moss Center are around 18-hundred…several hundred above the average covered in the budget. Tulsa Sheriff Stanley Glanz says such a high population makes it less safe for staff and inmates.

Glanz says much of the increase is due to people arrested who have outstanding warrants. When somebody is picked up and is found to have a warrant, they go to jail. He says he’s meeting with judges to see what can be done to reduce the jail numbers.
