Tulsa Hosts Gang Conference

KWGS News

Law enforcement officers from throughout a five-state region are in Tulsa for the 19th Annual Oklahoma Gangs Investigators Association training conference. It is being held at the Southern Hill Marriot in south Tulsa.

Gang officers will train on the latest trends. Plus, they are learning ways to assist in the interdiction and prosecution of criminal gang activity.

OGIA board member Van Ellis says gangs are no longer just urban street gangs. He says there are Asian gangs, Hispanic gangs and, as we saw last month in Waco, motorcycle gangs.

The conference runs through Friday. It is not open to the public.
