Tulsa Holds a Job for Vets Fair

KWGS News

From aerospace to trucking…a Tulsa job fair is helping find work for unemployed veterans. More than 80 companies are taking part in the Expo Square event. It’s part of a nationwide effort by the U-S Chamber of Commerce to help unemployed veterans and their spouses. Denise Reid is with the Tulsa Chamber and is helping coordinate the ‘Hiring Our Heroes’ job fair. She says veterans bring special skills that transfer well to many occupations.

The U.S. Chamber has been holding job fairs across the country. So far, Chamber leaders say they’ve helped more than 14 thousand veterans and military spouses find jobs.
