TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The Tulsa Health Department says it has received national public health department accreditation status through the Public Health Accreditation Board.
Tulsa Health Department director Dr. Bruce Dart says the department is now one of 20 departments nationwide to receive the accreditation.
The accreditation process includes a peer-reviewed assessment process to ensure it meets or exceeds a predetermined set of quality standards.
The national accreditation program is jointly sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
