Tulsa, OK – A follow-up to a story we reported on-air on Monday.

Mayor Bartlett will used an earmarked federal grant to create a city department of Energy/Sustainability. The grant is from the U.S. department of Energy and may not be used for other purposes.

The program will encourage more use of compress natural gas. The city will also take part in the AEP-PSO's Model Cities Program.

The mayor will propose energy performance contract ordinances to the city council. He also wants to use approved dollars from the third penny sales tax for energy audits on public facilities.
