Tulsa Fire Takes Toddlers Life

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Police in Tulsa say an 11-month-old girl has died from injuries sustained in a fire at a north Tulsa apartment complex.

The Tulsa World reports that the girl died following a fire around 1:45 a.m. Corporal Kevin Warne says the girl had been hospitalized in critical condition at a nearby hospital, and that a 3-year-old was also briefly hospitalized for observation.

Warne says four children, including the 11-month-old and 3-year-old, were home alone at the time of the fire, and the three older ones made it safely out of the unit. Detective Paula Maker says the infant died just after 6:30 a.m. and that the blaze appeared to be contained to one apartment unit.

Police did not identify the young victim. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
