Tulsa County Van Carrying ICE Prisoners in Accident

Tulsa County Sheriff

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A Tulsa County prison van carrying U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement inmates was involved in a collision on Interstate 44 just outside Oklahoma City.

An ambulance spokeswoman says six male inmates and one person who was not in the prison van were transported to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in good condition after the crash Friday afternoon and that all injuries appeared minor.

An ICE spokesman said he had no immediate information on the collision. Tulsa County Maj. Shannon Clark says the van was transporting the inmates from Oklahoma City to Tulsa for the federal agency.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Betsy Randolph says the collision occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. when a vehicle crashed into the rear of the eastbound prison van just east of Oklahoma City.
