Tulsa County leaders contemplate closing swimming pools permanently. Parks Director Richard Bales has recommended closing three of the county’s four pools. He says declining attendance and the high cost of needed renovations make it economically unfeasible to keep Chandler, O’Brien, and LaFortune pools open.
Bales does recommend keeping the Glenpool county pool open. County Commissioners are expected to make a decision before the end of the month. If the decision is to close pools, it would take effect immediately.
