Tulsa County Solider Remembered

Tulsa, OK –

TULSA, Okla. (AP) A memorial service was held in Tulsa for a 26-year-old Collinsville soldier killed in Afghanistan.

The service for Spc. Christopher Horton wa at Tulsa's First United Methodist Church, 1115 S. Boulder Ave.

Horton was among three Oklahoma National Guard soldiers killed Sept. 9 in Paktia Province when their team was hit by small arms fire. Also killed in the attack were 26-year-old Sgt. Bret Isenhower of Seminole and 20-year-old Pfc. Tony Potter of Okmulgee.

Horton was a graduate of the Missouri Military Academy who enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard in 2008. He received numerous awards and decorations, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
