TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Four individuals who have had a major impact through service to others will be honored by Oklahoma State University in Tulsa and the OSU Center for Health Sciences.

The 2015 Icons for OSU in Tulsa are Bryan Close, president of CloseBend, Inc., philanthropist Peggy Helmerich, Bob Jones, former executive director of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association, and Bishop Edward J. Slattery of the Catholic Dioceses of Tulsa.

Howard Barnett, president of OSU-Tulsa, says they embody the spirit of service and have helped improve the lives of citizens in Oklahoma and across the nation.

Dr. Kayse Shrum, president of the OSU Center for Health Sciences, says they have made it possible for students to pursue their educational goals and create a healthier future for Oklahoma.

The four will be honored May 18.
