There will be another study of the feasibility of consolidating the City of Tulsa and Tulsa County Park and Recreation Departments. A group looked into the possibility more than two decades ago, but it went nowhere. Given today’s financial situation for many governments, conditions might be more favorable now. Tulsa County Commissioner Karen Keith believes it’s worth a look-see, and county leaders are poised to pass a resolution of support for a feasibility study.
The county and city will be represented on the task force looking at consolidation, but citizens who are not part of the government will make up the bulk of the panel.
