Tulsa, OK – Bicyclist struck, killed in Tulsa
TULSA, Okla. (AP) Authorities have made an arrest in connection with a hit-and-run accident that killed an elderly bicyclist in Tulsa.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. George Brown said Tuesday that 28-year-old Roberto Salvador Alvelais-Torres had been taken into custody.
Alvelais-Torres is suspected of being the driver whose vehicle hit 74-year-old Beverly Duffield as she rode her bike on Southwest Boulevard near U.S. 75.
Brown says a witness told troopers that a brown newer-model vehicle struck Duffield as both were heading south on the street. Duffield, a clinical psychologist, died of massive injuries at the scene of the accident about 7:30 a.m.
The vehicle was recovered nearby.
