Tulsa Animal Welfare Offering Its Own Black Friday Deal

Tulsa Animal Welfare

Black Friday this year could be your chance to find a new best friend.

Tulsa Animal Welfare Manager Jean Letcher said the adoption fee will be discounted Friday and Saturday for all animals with at least a spot of black fur.

"Everything from solid black kittens and black with a little bit of white on our dogs to a calico or a tricolor beagle — a little bit of black is all it takes to be special on Black Friday," Letcher said.

The shelter is at 3031 N Erie Ave. and is open from noon to 4 p.m. both days. Because of construction, you’ll want to come in from Yale Avenue.

The adoption fees are $10 for cats and $50 for dogs with black fur rather than $25 and $75. You’ll need to bring a picture ID and fill out an application.

"If the animal is already spayed or neutered, then the animal can go home that day. Otherwise, we will schedule them for surgery next week, and they can go home next week," Letcher said.

Letcher hopes to see a lot of people adopt a dog or cat this weekend. The shelter is constantly full, and any adoptions allow Tulsa Animal Welfare to take in new animals or hold onto ones already there a little longer.
