It is with great sadness that I inform you that TU President Emeritus Ben Henneke passed away on Friday evening, November 13. Ben was a powerful force in the evolution of TU, having served the university in numerous capacities for nearly eight decades. He truly has been a statesman for the university, and his legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those he influenced as a teacher and mentor.
We will have his full obituary posted online on the TU home page later today. There will be a link from that page where you can tell us your favorite memories of Ben, and we will be sharing those anecdotes with the family at a later date.
At Ben's request, his memorial service will be held in our own Sharp Chapel at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 20. I hope you can join us as the TU family bids him a fond farewell.
