Tropical Oklahoma?

Oklahoma City, OK – Remnants of Hermine move north, buffeting Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Remnants of Tropical Storm Hermine (hur-MEEN') have brought persistent rain, strong winds and at least one tornado to southern Oklahoma.

The National Weather Service said a tornado touched down briefly about six miles south of Marietta in far southern Oklahoma late Wednesday, causing no injuries or damage.

Tornadoes warnings also were issued for Choctaw, McCurtain and Pushmataha counties, but no tornadoes were confirmed with those storms.

Earlier in the day, strong winds from a severe thunderstorm knocked over a tractor-trailer rig, damaged two homes and some outbuildings and toppled electric power poles in Bryan County. The truck driver's condition wasn't immediately known.

The weather service also issued a flash flood warning for Garvin, Grady and McClain counties after bands of heavy rain tracked northward into south-central Oklahoma.
