Tulsa, OK – Tulsa councilor to release development plans

TULSA, Okla. (AP) A Tulsa city councilor says he's obtained a copy of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation's conceptual site plan for a proposed south Tulsa development and Arkansas River bridge.

Councilor Bill Christiansen says he plans to divulge the plan at the City Council meeting Thursday night.

The development is proposed for a large tract of land on the northeast edge of the Arkansas River east of Yale Avenue and south of 121st Street.

The tribe's Trade and Commerce Authority CEO Michael Wisner says he's troubled that Christiansen has obtained proprietary information. Wisner declined to discuss the tribe's activities.

Christiansen says he's concerned that tribal trust land is not subject to the city's zoning codes and sales tax or county property tax.
