Trial Date Set for Woman Charged in Tulsa Fire Deaths

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A trial date has been set for a woman charged in the deaths of her two young nieces in a Tulsa apartment fire.

The Tulsa World reports 24-year-old Miashah  Moses is charged with second-degree murder in the November deaths of the children.

District Judge James Caputo set Moses' trial date for December 1st.

Moses pleaded not guilty to the charges. Her defense attorney had filed a motion to dismiss the charges, but the judge denied it.

Moses told investigators that food was cooking on a stove when she had left the girls alone in the apartment to take out trash and visit with a friend. She said the apartment was on fire when she returned.
