TPS Looking for Teachers

Tulsa Public Schools is seeking qualified educators to fill 52 teaching positions before the school year starts on August 22. The district will hold an educator hiring fair on Thursday, July 7 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Wilson Teaching and Learning Center located at 2710 E. 11th St.

“Despite the state revenue shortfall, we are actively recruiting teachers for the 2016-2017 school year; particularly in high-needs areas like math, science, and special education,” said Superintendent Deborah A. Gist. “We’re looking for talented and dedicated men and women who are ready to inspire and prepare every student to love learning, achieve ambitious goals, and make positive contributions to our world.”

“We require our teachers to be certified by the State of Oklahoma. However, if you’ve completed the relevant coursework, we can help you identify your next steps toward certification,” said Chief Human Capital Officer Talia Shaull. “At TPS, we do everything we can to make sure our teachers are prepared to succeed in the classroom—and that they have the support they need to enjoy long, rewarding careers with our district.”
