Tornado does damage near Tahlequah
ELDON, Okla. (AP) — Authorities say a possible tornado destroyed two mobile homes, numerous trees and some outbuildings in eastern Oklahoma, but there were no immediate reports of injuries.
The National Weather Service says the storm hit about 9:20 a.m. Sunday near Eldon in Cherokee County. A sheriff's dispatcher says no injuries were reported, but two mobile homes "are gone."
Tree damage also was reported about 6 miles east of Tahlequah and near Oklahoma Highway 51, where authorities say a barn and a shed also were damaged.
The storm was part of a system that moved through Oklahoma early Sunday morning and spawned a tornado that killed five, injured 29 and destroyed numerous homes in the Woodward area.
More than a dozen people were hurt Friday when a tornado damaged homes and businesses in Norman.
