Tighter Security as School Resumes in Tulsa; Business Brisk at Weekend Gun Show

KWGS News File Photo

Tulsa students head back to classes today amid tighter and more visible security. The action follows last month's shooting spree at an elementary school in New England.

Mayor Bartlett says Tulsa Police will supplement the school district's campus police in keeping the schools safe. He also says the Tulsa Fire Department will also have a presence at the schools.  Firefighters will do building inspections and drive by the neighborhood schools after hours.

Meanwhile, business was brisk at the fairgrounds for a weekend gun show. Thousands of people packed the Expo Building to attend the show and buy guns and ammo. Many fear those items will be tougher to purchase in the future.
