Thunderstorms in Oklahoma, Arkansas

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The National Weather Service says severe thunderstorms with large hail, strong winds and possibly tornadoes are expected across Oklahoma and Arkansas.

The weather service says baseball-sized hail and winds of up to 80 miles per hour are possible starting Friday afternoon and continuing into the evening hours, with the chance for isolated tornadoes developing before the storms move eastward and out of the region early Saturday morning. The storms could also produce heavy rain, leading to flooding.

The weather service says the greatest threat appears to be from southeastern Oklahoma across southern Arkansas.

Another round of thundershowers and storms is expected to approach the region Sunday night and continue through Tuesday.
