The Vision Renewal Sales Tax Package includes $70-million for the Tulsa Fire Department. Fire Chief Ray Driskell says that includes funding for a new far-east Tulsa fire station. Such a station would eliminate some of the pressure on a 31st and Garnett station.
Tulsa voters will decide the fate of the package on April 5th. The proposal would not mean a tax increase, but would re-purpose an expiring county tax.
