File photo

COLBERT, Okla. (AP) — Officials say a Fort Worth man has died after a single-engine plane traveling from Missouri to Fort Worth Spinks Airport crashed in Oklahoma.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford says the crash happened Sunday afternoon. Lunsford said the plane was carrying a husband and wife as it was traveling from Springfield, Missouri, to Fort Worth, when it crashed in a wooded area five miles southeast of Colbert, Oklahoma.

The woman's condition was not immediately clear.

The FAA says the pilot reported losing engine power shortly before the crash.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
