Oklahoma City, OK – Terrill, Leftwich to appear on bribery charges

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A member of the Oklahoma House and a former member of the state Senate who face felony bribery charges are scheduled to make initial appearances in Oklahoma County District Court.

Attorneys for Rep. Randy Terrill of Moore and former state Sen. Debbe Leftwich of Oklahoma City say they will make their initial appearances in the case on Monday.

Felony bribery charges were filed on Dec. 22. An affidavit alleges Terrill offered Leftwich an $80,000-per-year job at the state medical examiner's office in exchange for her agreement not to seek re-election so another state lawmaker, Rep. Mike Christian, could run for the job. Christian was not charged.

If convicted, Terrill and Leftwich could each face up to two years in prison and a $1,000 fine.
