Teen, Suspected of Murder, to be Tried as 'Youthful Offender'

KWGS News

The 8th grader arrested last Christmas for the murder of a Nevada woman insider her parents’ Jenks home will be tried as a ‘youthful offender’. Tulsa County Special Judge Cliff Smith issued the ruling yesterday.

47-year-old Mary Escue was shot and killed at her parents home last December 18th. Police claim the teen burglarizing the home when he shot and killed Escue.

Joshua Mooney was 14 at the time of the murder. Prosecutors want to try him as an adult and they plan to appeal the judge’s ruling.
