Teen Admits to Rural Green Country Death of Family Member

Google Street View

Rather than go to school this morning, a 14-year-old boy walks into the Vinita Police station. There he tells officers he shot and killed his step-mother.

Authorities went to a home on Vinita's north side. They found the body of 38-year-old Laura Hendricks. She had been shot.

The Vinita P.D. has asked for assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. The Bureau's Jessica Brown says agents are looking into what led up to the fatal shooting.
