Taxpayers who sued over the Great Plains Airline settlement win in the state supreme court.
The Airline quickly went bankrupt. Then under Mayor Kathy Taylor's administration, a settlement was reached to pay 7.1 million dollars to Bank of Oklahoma after Great Plains defaulted. The taxpayers asserted the settlement deal was not lawful. City Councilor John Eagleton was against the settlement from the first. He says the Supreme Court made the correct decision.
The Supreme Court ruling directs the district court to order Bank of Oklahoma to repay the settlement funds to the city.
