Talking about religion and tolerance (and matters related) with a member of "The Faith Club."
By Rich Fisher
Tulsa, Oklahoma – On our program today, a chat with one of the three authors of the very popular nonfiction book (published in paperback by The Free Press) called "The Faith Club: A Muslim, A Christian, A Jew --- Three Women Search for Understanding." Our guest today is Ranya Idliby, who tells us how and when and why this remarkable club was formed, and what it has (and hasn't) been able to accomplish. Idliby also speaks honestly and intelligently about how this club has challenged --- and therefore, she argues, ultimately strengthened --- her own Muslim faith. (Similar "faith clubs" have subsequently sprung up all over the country.) Idliby and the other two authors of this book will appear in Tulsa for a discussion / forum / book-signing on March 8th at 3pm at the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. This event is sponsored by the Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice; the event is free to the public, and copies of "The Faith Club" will be available for purchase.
