Take II: Tokyo & Zodiac on Performance Oklahoma

For fans of the Tokyo String Quartet and the Zodiac Trio who would like to hear the entire Performance Oklahoma program promised last Saturday evening, we have good news - a rebroadcast! This time, a broadcast in its entirety (we promise) this Saturday evening at 8:00 over Classical 88.7-1.

The first half of the program, hosted by Kimberly Powell and produced at our sister station KCSC in Oklahoma City, features the ensemble's Sunday, October 21st, 2012 Chamber Music Tulsa performance, with excerpts from quartets by Franz Joseph Haydn, Béla Bartók, and Felix Mendelssohn along with extraordinary commentary from founding member Kazuhide Isomura.

The second half of the program features The Zodiac Trio which appeared on Tuesday, November 13th, 2012 in the Fine Arts Recital Hall at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. We'll hear a Clarinet Trio by Aram Khachaturian’s Trio for Clarinet, Violin and Piano, the Trio by Marcus Paus, Béla Bartók’s Contrasts and the Tango Verano Porteño by Astor Piazzolla.
