Suspected Killer Escapes Oklahoma State Prison

Oklahoma-DOC

McALESTER, Okla. (AP) — A suspected killer from Lawton has escaped a state prison in McAlester.

Oklahoma Department of Corrections spokesman Jerry Massie says 28-year-old Robert Long was missing at the 10 p.m. Tuesday inmate count at the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center. Massie said Wednesday that Long was still at large.

Long was charged Friday with first-degree murder in the March shooting death of Johnny Allen at a motel in Lawton. Long was later convicted, in October, on drug and weapons charged and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
