Sunday Bus Service Is Here

KWGS News

Mayor Bynum announced, at a news conference, that Tulsa Transit will begin Sunday Bus Service on Sunday, July 2nd. The addition of Sunday Service for Tulsa Transit customers has been made possible through the Vision Tulsa sales tax, approved in April 2016.

“This is the first time in the 49-year history of the Metropolitan Tulsa Transit Authority that we are offering service on Sundays,” said Mayor Bynum. “Tulsa residents who would like to ride the bus to places of worship, recreation and for other activities will have that option. Thank you to Tulsa voters for approving the Vision Tulsa sales tax that makes this possible.”

Using smaller buses, Tulsa Transit Sunday daytime routes will be the same routes that operate during the evening Monday through Saturday. Sunday Service fares will be the same as for any other day. Hours of operation will be from 8:30 a.m. until approximately 7 p.m. The Call Center will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Sunday Service will be a fixed-route deviation service. Buses will run on regular routes, but will deviate up to ¾-mile off the route to pick up or drop off passengers who schedule a deviation in advance.
