State Wide Weather Update

Undated – Winter storm makes its way through Oklahoma

UNDATED (AP) Highway crews are plowing roadways and applying salt and sand as a winter storm makes its way across Oklahoma.

The National Weather Service says areas in western Oklahoma including Roger Mills and Washita counties saw 4 inches of snow, while other areas received a dusting. Forecasters in Norman say most roads are slick with 1 to 2 inches of snow.

The snow is expected to transition to a sleet-freezing rain mix before turning to all rain later Monday.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation urges drivers to be careful and plan for extra time on their morning commute.

Pete Snyder, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Tulsa, says the precipitation should melt quickly as temperatures are predicted near 50 on Tuesday.
