An Oklahoma House Interim Committee takes up what it calls “Islamic Extremists”. Sallisaw State Representative John Bennett requested the study. He says Muslims are a threat to the Oklahoma way of life. He accused them of chipping away at American freedoms.
Bennett said he was “sick and tired of political correctness and the bowing down of elected leaders every time the liberal media or the real threat calls us names for sounding the alarm. We owe it to our citizens to protect them from this real and present danger.”
The Council on American-Islamic Relations today responded to comments made during the hearing on "Radical Islam, Sharia Law, the Muslim Brotherhood and the radicalization process."
"Representative John Bennett is shamefully wasting taxpayer money to promote his own biased agenda," said CAIR-OK Executive Director Adam Soltani. "This hearing was a new low for Representative Bennett, as his guests presented a biased narrative that achieves nothing more than demonizing and marginalizing the Oklahoma Muslim Community."
