The state has moved to shut down 15-Church's Chicken location across Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Tax Commission says the franchise operator owes the state thousands in sales taxes.
The state's Paula Ross says the locations are in the Tulsa and Oklahoma City metros. Ross says the businesses were collecting the taxes, but not paying to the state. She says they did attempt to work with the franchise operator but had no luck.
The state's order only effects locations operated by one franchise operator. Other locations remain open. Seven of the closed businesses are in the Tulsa Metro.
