Foyil, OK – Okla. man sets fire to home in standoff, dies

FOYIL, Okla. (AP) A Rogers County man who apparently set fire to his home during a five-hour standoff with county deputies has been found dead inside the home near Foyil.

Authorities say the body of 57-year-old Ronald Still was found about 8 p.m. Wednesday after firefighters were able to put out the flames.

Sheriff Scott Walton says deputies went to the home about 3 p.m. to serve a protective order to Still. Walton says Still told the deputies he was armed and they should "leave while you still can."

Walton says deputies then surrounded the home and about two hours later heard popping noises and saw flames coming through the roof then heard explosions that sounded like ammunition exploding.

The sheriff says the explosions kept authorities away from the home.
