Soft Opening Planned for Route 66 Auto Museum in Sapulpa

SAPULPA, Okla. (AP) — A new museum dedicated to vintage cars and the historic Route 66 is expected to open later this year in Sapulpa.

The Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum has a soft opening planned for June 1. On Friday morning, Oklahoma Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb will host a town hall with community members to discuss tourism and business opportunities along Route 66.

The 10,000-square-foot interactive facility will feature vintage cars and a variety of exhibits about Route 66. A 66-foot-tall gas pump will be erected outside the museum.

Lamb is visiting the museum as part of his tour of Route 66 communities.
