Small Earthquake Recorded in Central Oklahoma

PRAGUE, Okla. (AP) — A small earthquake has been reported in Lincoln County in central Oklahoma.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 2.8-magnitude quake was recorded about five miles northwest of Prague around 9:14 p.m. Friday. A sheriff's office dispatcher said Saturday she wasn't aware of any injury or damage reports.

Small to moderate temblors have been reported in central and eastern Oklahoma this month, the largest being a 4.0-magnitude tremor near McAlester on April 3rd. Survey officials say residents as far north as Tulsa and as far west as Norman reported feeling that quake.

Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest that are felt by humans.
