'Significant' Severe Weather in Oklahoma Forecast

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Multiple rounds of severe weather are in the forecast for much of Oklahoma through the weekend.

The Storm Prediction Center says Oklahoma is at a slight risk Wednesday for severe weather with large hail the primary threat. Forecasters say damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are also possible with the storms Wednesday.

Later on, a "significant multi-day severe event" is expected over the weekend. On Saturday afternoon, storms are expected to develop east of a dryline and warm front in northern and western Oklahoma. The National Weather Service says the area most at risk for severe weather extends from Woodward east to Ponca City and south to Altus.

On Sunday, severe storms are again possible, this time in central and eastern Oklahoma.
