CATOOSA, Okla. (AP) — Shipping through the Tulsa Port of Catoosa rebounded last month after all locks on the navigation system re-opened to traffic after repairs were made to the W.D. Mayo Lock & Dam 14.

Officials say total October barge shipping through the port was 147,158 tons — bringing the year's total to more than 1.9 million tons.

Inbound steel increased by nearly 8,000 tons, nearly all of it imported from Russia and China. Also increasing during October were outbound shipments of soybeans— to nearly 30,000 tons, which was the highest total in seven months.

The 2,500-acre port complex offers industrial sites for lease and property for sale. About 70 industrial facilities employ more than 4,200 workers there.
