Sheriff's Office Donates Toys To Tulsa Shelter

KWGS News Photo

SUVs full of toys are dropped off at the Tulsa Salvation Army’s Center for Hope. The toys come from the Tulsa Sheriff’s office. The center is the next-door neighbor to the Tulsa Jail on North Denver Avenue.

Sheriff Vic Regalado and his staff delivered toys for homeless children staying at the center. The sheriff says the department collected the toys over the last few weeks.

Tulsa Commander Ken Chapman says the mound of toys will be put to good use. He says, on average, over 325 people spend the night at the center. He says many are children. That figure makes the Center for Hope the largest homeless shelter in eastern Oklahoma.
