Sheriff: Oklahoma Teenagers Steal 2 Fire Trucks
MONROE, Okla. (AP) — An Oklahoma sheriff says two drunken teenage boys have been arrested for stealing two fire trucks and wrecking one of them.
Le Flore County Sheriff Rob Seale says two 17-year-olds were arrested Thursday night for taking the trucks from the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department. He says authorities were alerted after the boys drove by an off-duty deputy's home with lights and sirens on.
Seale says they used security codes to enter the station. He says they crashed an older-model fire truck into a tree and drove it back to the station. The truck is totaled.
He says they stole a second truck and drove it to Poteau before being stopped by the off-duty deputy.
Both were arrested. Police haven't released their names and it's unclear if they've been charged.
