Jones, OK – 2 small earthquakes recorded in central Oklahoma

JONES, Okla. (AP) Two small earthquakes have been recorded between Luther and Jones in central Oklahoma.

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded a 3.1 magnitude earthquake at 7:46 p.m. Tuesday and the Oklahoma Geological Survey reports a quake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.9 in the same area at 8:07 p.m.

No damage or injuries are reported.

The Oklahoma Geological Survey shows both earthquakes were about 20 miles northeast of Oklahoma City with epicenters about one mile apart.

Researchers say quakes of 2.5 to 3.0 magnitude quakes are typically the smallest felt by humans.
