A Semi Overturns to Avoid a Ladder on Interstate 244

KWGS News File Photo

A semi tractor trailer carrying concrete cinder blocks overturns this morning on westbound Interstate 244 near Utica Avenue. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Captain George Brown says OHP began investigation when they arrived to the scene. Authorities spoke with a witness that says the driver swerved to miss a ladder in the road. The semi hit a two to three inch ledge of asphalt while reentering the traffic lanes causing the load to shift. The trailer overturned sideways and lost the entire load.

Captain Brown says the inside lane remained opened during clean up. He says the driver had very minor injuries if any and was the only one involved. Brown says that the truck driver’s insurance company will be billed for damages done to the road.
