Run-Off Races Set for Tomorrow

KWGS News

More than two dozen candidates seeking seats in the Oklahoma Legislature face opponents in Tuesday's primary runoff election. Those include several who are supported or opposed by a grassroots group aiming to elect more supporters of public education.

There are six runoffs for state House seats — four among Republicans and two for Democrats. In the Senate there are seven runoffs, all featuring Republicans seeking open seats.

In six of the seven Republican runoffs for Senate seats, the candidates include one endorsed by the group Oklahoma Parents and Educators for Public Education against one that the group has targeted as opposed to public education.

The group was founded by a parent and teacher from Edmond, and their Facebook page has grown to include more than 25,000 members.
